pgAdmin4 でソフトウェア自体の更新する際にエラーが発生する場合の対処法を備忘録として残しておく

環境

  • OS: MacOS Tahoe 26.2

エラー内容

Error: Cannot update while running on a read-only volume. The application is on a read-only volume. Please move the application and try again. If you're on macOS Sierra or later, you'll need to move the application out of the Downloads directory. See https://github.com/Squirrel/Squirrel.Mac/issues/182 for more information.

対処法

ダウンロードフォルダ内にアプリケーションがある場合

  1. pgAdmin4 を終了する
  2. Finder でダウンロードフォルダを開く
  3. pgAdmin4 アプリケーションを「アプリケーション」フォルダにドラッグアンドドロップで移動する
  4. アプリケーションフォルダから pgAdmin4 を起動し、再度更新する

それ以外の場合

  1. pgAdmin4 を終了する
  2. ターミナルを開いて、以下のコマンドを実行する
sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine /Applications/pgAdmin\ 4.app
  1. pgAdmin4 を起動し、再度更新する
